Brisbane Ideas Festival 2006
Director Martina Sheehan presented a session at the Brisbane Ideas Festival on 1 April 2006. The session was called "Modern Business - Ancient Wisdom".
The four days of the festival brought together leading national, international and local speakers, exhibits and demonstrations to promote ideas, innovation and invention. It was a great success, attracting near full houses to most sessions, including Martina's.
In her session on “Modern Business - Ancient Wisdom”, Martina challenged the value of our modern-day culture of busyness, in particular the long term effects that the state of busyness might have on health, happiness and effectiveness. She suggested ways that people might regain their focus, clarity and peace of mind, and new trends in the workplace that are leading the charge in this area.
The concepts she explored during the session form the basis of the approach, which has been implemented successfully in organisations over the last 5 years. These teachings have a proven success rate in helping organisations to become more adaptive in today’s complex and uncertain business environment.
